Elementary School Tours
America's Family Foundation offers a 60-minute, exciting experience in American history. The elementary children will be hosted by famous historical figures and America's Family mascots. This fast moving tour is informative, fun, motivating and inspiring. We believe it is important for children to learn and experience American history to appreciate the freedom they enjoy today and what they can do to be better citizens for tomorrow.
Areas of Focus:
In the exhibit, We believe in America and Its Remarkable Freedom Trail, we use multi-media presentations, storytelling, role playing and on-hands projects, to cover the following areas:
- The Declaration of Independence and its purpose
- The United States Constitution and its purpose
- The importance of making and obeying laws
- The first three articles of the Constitution. Defining the three branches of our government and their purpose
- The Preamble to the Constitution
In the section, Ring the Bells of Freedom, the chilren will participate in the power of a national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, freedom symbols, our American flag and what we should do when the flag is presented.
The children will be signing their names with a Quill pen and recording two musical numbers, The Star-Spangled Banner and an original song, I love America, which will be provided in a packet to the participating schools four weeks before they tour our site. Also included in the packet will be instruction for hand language that goes along with the Preamble to the Constitution. We desire the children to learn the preamble and its hand language before they come and present it during their tour.
We will be taking pictures of the children while they are participating in these activities and including these picutres on the CD along with the two songs they recorded. These CDs will be available for each participating child and one for each classroom. This interactive music/picture CD will be a fun way to remember history, their tour experience, and a special avenue for reviewing what they learned with their families and friends.
The cost is $6.00 per student which includes the tour, materials, recording and interactive picture/music CD for each participating child. The classes can be up to 25 students per class. There is no charge for teachers and accompanying adults.
